Well, add to that list Lemon & Ginger, 'cause boy do they hit the spot in our uber-refreshing, deep golden ale, Lemon Head. The intriguing union of lemon and ginger creates an unmistakable thirst quenching surprise.
A burning issue of great cultural significance - who's your all-time favourite Essex blonde? Joan Sims, Denise Van Outen, Jodie Marsh, Noel Edmonds, or even Darren Day perhaps? Well ours is definitely Essex Border. A wonderful, easy drinking golden beer with fruity, spicy overtones giving way to sweet, soft orange notes and a well-rounded finish. What's not to love about a tasty, well-rounded Essex blonde?
Originally brewed to celebrate the 750th anniversary of the Augustinian priory in Clare, Suffolk, birthplace of the Nethergate Brewery. A wonderfully smooth drinking premium beer. A hint of Crystal malt and the late addition of Styrian Goldings hops gives a continental feel. Its habit forming!
Folklore tells of many mythical creatures in all corners of the globe, from the Yeti of the Himalayas and the Sasquatch in the forests of North America, to the Loch Ness Monster and Beast of Bodmin Moor a little closer to home for example. The South East of England really does have its own legendary monster, the powerful Essex Beast! A gargantuan Porter crafted from a fine blend of pale, chocolate and dark crystal malts. Luscious aroma's gather to give wonderful toffee and coffee nose, the palate is full and complex with a spicy hoppiness followed by more treacle and mocha flavours. If encountered, don't be afraid to confront but please handle the Beast with care!
Combine St Nicholas and Sinterklaas from church history and folklore and merge with our very own Father Christmas and you get the much loved character known as Santa Claus complete with his splendid white trimmed red coat and trousers. Similarly, combine Crystal Rye malt and Boadicea hops for balancing both aroma and bitterness and you create a first rate, wonderfully crisp and fruity, gloriously red best bitter. Perfect for the festive season.
